"The tournament is my way of paying them back" - Lou Grubb
The annual Lou Grubb Friends Fore Golf (LGFFG) tournament and dinner has raised nearly $4.5 million for Barrow Neurological Institute and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, including a record $500,000 in April 2008.
This event is an all-inclusive golf tournament starting the night before with a dinner and raffle and concluding with an awards dinner on Friday. It’s fun, prizes, food, and golf – all included - and all for a great cause. The hospital became the LGFFG beneficiary after Grubb underwent successful surgery for a ruptured aneurysm at Barrow. “The golf tournament is my way of paying them back,” says Grubb about the popular Valley event.
This year's festivities took place April 22 and 23 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort and McCormick Ranch Golf Club with major sponsors the Arizona Diamondbacks, DPR, Greenburg Traurig, Kathy and Dan Grubb, Xerox, Symmetry, and Panoramic Press stepping up to the green.
