Fall 2010 Raffle Brings Good Fortune to Local Families across Arizona
PHOENIX (October 4, 2010) – While driving home from work Thursday evening, Clarkdale resident Deborah Martinez followed her normal routine of checking voicemail and returning calls, when she had a phone conversation that was anything but normal.
Speaking with Kathy Rice, executive director of the Health & Wealth Raffle, she learned that she won Grand Prize #1– a million dollar penthouse at ONE Lexington in Phoenix or a cash option of $1 million.
“This is so overwhelming!” said Martinez. “I haven’t even decided which prize I want; my mind is still spinning!”
The Health & Wealth Raffle provides Arizonans with the chance to support St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute, and in return, brings joy to many Arizonan residents, awarding them extraordinary prizes that might otherwise be unattainable during this tough economic time.
“I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to tell the big winners about their prize,” said Kathy Rice, executive director of the Raffle. “I often hear stories about how winners are inspired to enter because friends and family have either been touched by St. Joseph’s or Barrow, or have won prizes in previous Raffles. By now, most Arizonans have either been a winner or know someone who has won.”
Other big winners in the Fall 2010 Raffle include:
Grand Prize #2 winner, Apache Junction, who won His & Her Mercedes plus $37,000 or a cash option of $150,000. The winner wishes to remain anonymous.
Antionette Dominguez, Mammoth, was waiting to pick her daughter up from school when she received the call that she had won a 2011 Jaguar XJ plus $23,000 cash. She had always wanted to enter the Raffle but had missed the deadline every year.
Sarah Coughlin, Phoenix, was speechless when she and her husband heard the news they won the 2010 Acura ZDX plus $16,000 cash. The Phoenix resident said she had a good feeling about this Raffle, when she began seeing the commercials on television.
Paul Haus, Chandler, received the call that he had won a new Audi A5 Cabriolet plus $14,000 cash and couldn’t wait to tell his wife. Upon hearing about the win, she thought he was playing a prank. Haus works for an organization whose mission is to feed the hungry and feels strongly about supporting St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Jeffrey Csizmadia, Surprise, won the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited Edition Sedan plus $8,000 cash. “When I listened to the message from Kathy, I knew something good was coming,” said Csizmadia. “I’ve been on a streak! I won a small prize last Raffle. You really win either way because St. Joseph’s is a good cause to support.”
Diann Prince, Peoria, has a lot to celebrate. Not only did she win the Honda CRZ Hybrid plus $8,000, but she and her husband are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month. Two days before the Final Draw of the Raffle, Prince told her husband she would love to have the Honda CRZ.
