Honoring the memory of a daughter
Bob and Joann Olivas founded Angelita's Amigos Inc. in 1988 to honor the memory of their daughter, Angela Grace Olivas who died of leukemia just shy of her fourth birthday. Their non-profit organization is dedicated to help families who have children affected by this disease.
In 1999, in cooperation with St. Joseph's Hospital, they established the 'Angelita's Amigos Room' in St Joseph's pediatric ward. Their non-profit foundation funds family-friendly rooms for children who are hospitalized and their families. The rooms include warm paint colors, wooden shudders, entertainment, murals and more.
