About Laura's Run–2021

10K, 5K, 1M and Doggie Trot

This year, to preserve the health of our community, Laura's Run will be a VIRTUAL EVENT. It's the same great cause, but now you can pick your distance and complete it anytime, anywhere!

The first Laura’s Run was organized in March 2007 by family and friends of Laura Hart Burdick to celebrate her strength and spirit throughout her lung transplant journey. The run evolved into an annual event featuring 10K and 5K courses for runners, a 1-mile course for walkers, "Laura's Doggie Trot," dri-fit shirts for all participants, activities for kids, music, runners' brunch and a great variety of silent auction items. This year's event invites runners and walkers to pick a distance and location of their own choosing. All participants will still receive a custom race T-shirt shipped to them, and the hope is that all the festivities around this cherished family event return to an in-person event in 2022.

All proceeds for this annual family event benefit St. Joseph's Norton Thoracic Institute, home to one of the nation's most robust lung transplant programs and advanced medical care for treating patients afflicted with COVID-19. Over the past 15 years, Laura's friends and family--along with event participants--have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Norton Thoracic Institute. Every dollar raised leads to better health for our community. Even if you decline to participate in the actual virtual event, please consider making a donation to support the great momentum created by the family and friends of Laura Hart Burdick to advance cardiothoracic care at Norton Thoracic Institute!
